Campaign surpasses more than 2 million voter calls and nearly 500,000 doors knocked ahead of primary election

SAN FRANCISCO — As the June 2 primary election enters its final days, the campaign for CA-11 congressional candidate Saikat Chakrabarti announced today that it has surpassed 2 million voter calls and nearly 500,000 doors knocked, underscoring what the campaign says is the largest grassroots operation in San Francisco political history.

The campaign has also identified more than 40,000 supporters through its organizing efforts while mobilizing more than 4,000 volunteers.

Throughout the campaign, Chakrabarti has made direct voter engagement a central part of his strategy. He has hosted more than 20 town halls and meet-and-greets across San Francisco and held 245 voter calls, giving residents opportunities to ask questions and engage directly with the candidate. The weekly calls were open to anyone who wanted to participate, reflecting the campaign's commitment to making Chakrabarti accessible to voters throughout the city.

"For months, our volunteers and organizers have been talking with voters at their doors, over the phone, and in neighborhoods throughout San Francisco about affordability, healthcare, taxing the ultra-rich, and the future of the Democratic Party," said Chakrabarti. "Now our focus is turning that outreach into votes. Over the next few days, hundreds of volunteers will be helping get out the vote before polls close on June 2, and we're excited to finish this campaign strong."

In recent days, progressive leaders have united behind Chakrabarti, including three members of the "Squad," Reps. Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and former Congressman Jamaal Bowman, along with the Sunrise Movement and other progressive organizations. More than 30 organizations have endorsed the campaign, including groups supporting Medicare for All, stopping endless wars, climate justice, and reducing corporate influence in politics.
