Position Overview
Help bring bold change to Congress by making community in San Francisco! Saikat for Congress is seeking motivated, outgoing and articulate individuals to canvass in our district. You will be on the front lines, engaging voters in meaningful conversations about the issues that matter most.
No experience necessary, however the position does require the ability to walk for several hours every day. Additionally, you must be 18 or older.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage directly with voters to share Saikat's vision and platform.
- Record voter contact data accurately.
- Help build a strong, grassroots movement focused on delivering prosperity and economic security for all Americans.
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: $30 per hour (increases to $35 with experience/performance)
- Weekday Hours: Monday-Thursday, 3pm-8pm
- Weekend Hours: Saturday-Sunday, 10am-4pm
- Minimum Weekly Hours: 5
- Maximum Weekly Hours: 25

Position Overview
The Deputy Political Director is a senior member of the political team responsible for executing the campaign's endorsement, outreach, and political operations strategy under the direction of the Political Director.
This role manages day-to-day political programs, oversees the overlap between field and political, drives systems and accountability, and ensures disciplined follow-through across endorsement and community outreach efforts.
Endorsement Program Execution
- Implement the endorsement strategy developed by the Political Director inclusive of the completion and submission of endorsement questionnaires and supporting materials.
- Support managing the endorsement pipeline, ensuring consistent outreach, scheduling, and follow-up on a day-to-day basis.
- Track targets across key endorsement categories, including: labor unions; democratic clubs and local political organizations; national progressive organizations; elected officials and movement leaders; community-based and identity-based organizations.
- Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and flag risks, delays, or strategic shifts to the Political Director. Ensure all meetings are logged and follow-up actions are completed on time.
Community Outreach Operations
- Execute outreach plans to priority constituencies, including: faith communities; student and youth organizations; labor and worker centers; senior organizations; tech and professional communities; immigrant and language-specific communities; parent, education, and housing advocacy groups.
- Supervise organizers responsible for constituency outreach and relationship-building.
- Ensure regular engagement cadence with key institutions and leaders.
- Identify opportunities for coalition building and community partnerships.
- Track outreach metrics and ensure measurable progress toward engagement goals.
Event Staffing & Political Coverage
- Lead logistical and strategic coordination for political and community events.
- Ensure events are properly staffed and objectives are clearly defined in advance.
- Review event briefs outlining.
- Oversee timely and professional post-event follow-up.
Systems, CRM & Accountability
- Serve as primary manager of CRM and project management systems.
- Maintain disciplined tracking of: pipeline stages; task ownership; deadlines and follow-up schedules; and relationship histories.
Team Development
- Directly supervise political organizers inclusive of setting clear daily and weekly performance expectations, and providing coaching on campaign priorities and timelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in San Francisco politics.
- Demonstrated experience in political campaigns, labor, advocacy, or movement organizing.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Experience supervising staff and maintaining accountability systems.
- Comfort working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Position Overview
The Political Organizer is responsible for executing the campaign's political outreach and relationship-building program at the constituency and organizational level. Reporting to the Deputy Political Director, the Political Organizer builds and maintains relationships with community leaders, organizations, and key stakeholders to advance the campaign's endorsement, coalition-building, and political engagement goals.
This role requires strong interpersonal skills, disciplined follow-through, and the ability to manage a structured outreach pipeline in a fast-paced campaign environment.
Endorsement Outreach & Support
- Schedule endorsement meetings, screenings, and follow-up conversations.
- Track questionnaire deadlines and assist in gathering required materials.
- Log all outreach, meetings, and follow-up tasks.
- Ensure timely and professional follow-up after all interactions.
Community Relationship Building
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with assigned constituencies.
- Conduct regular check-ins with community leaders and organizational contacts.
- Identify opportunities for candidate engagement, coalition partnerships, and community visibility.
- Maintain updated lists of key stakeholders and influencers within assigned communities.
Event Support & Political Coverage
- Staff political and community events as assigned.
- Capture detailed notes and contact information.
- Ensure post-event follow-up communications.
Systems & Tracking Discipline
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM and project management systems.
Team Collaboration
- Coordinate closely with Political, Field, and Communications teams to align outreach efforts with campaign priorities.
- Share insights from community conversations that may inform messaging or strategy.
- Support endorsement rollouts and coalition announcements as directed.
- Assist with volunteer engagement and recruitment through political networks.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in San Francisco politics.
- Experience in political campaigns, organizing, advocacy, student leadership, or community engagement preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
- Comfort using CRM and project management tools.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
