Saikat Campaign Reports Strong Grassroots Support with Most Contributions in CA-11 Race

More than 13,000 contributions at a $27 average underscore the campaign's small-dollar, grassroots fundraising foundation.

SAN FRANCISCO — Democratic congressional candidate Saikat Chakrabarti's campaign reported strong grassroots support in its latest federal campaign finance filing, highlighting the highest number of contributions in the race for California's 11th Congressional District.

According to the campaign's first-quarter filing with the Federal Election Commission, Saikat's campaign received more than 3,500 contributions, with an average donation of $17.46.

To date, the campaign has received more than 13,000 contributions overall, with an average donation of $27, reflecting continued growth in small-dollar support.

The campaign said contributions came from across the country, with more than 39% coming from California, including solid support in San Francisco.

"This is what a grassroots campaign looks like — more than 13,000 contributions to date and a $27 average donation. That's real people chipping in what they can because they believe we deserve a candidate who isn't backed by tech billionaires and corporations representing San Francisco in D.C.," said Tiffaney Bradley, Communications Director. "And we're investing our resources in reaching more and more voters, knocking doors, showing up in communities, and meeting people where they are."

The filing shows the campaign raised $3.41 million in total during the first quarter, including candidate contributions, and $61,643 from individual donors excluding candidate loans. The campaign reported $208,657 in cash on hand at the close of the reporting period and $3.31 million in total spending.

Campaign officials said the volume of contributions reflects broad engagement from supporters nationwide, driven largely by small-dollar donations and grassroots participation.

Saikat, a former chief of staff to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and policy director at New Consensus, entered the race earlier this year and has focused on direct voter engagement across San Francisco.

The report covers the period from January 1 through March 31.
