New Poll Shows CA-11 Race Neck and Neck as Momentum Builds for Saikat
A new Data for Progress poll places Chakrabarti within five points of frontrunner Scott Wiener, with Chakrabarti holding a commanding net favorability advantage.
SAN FRANCISCO — A new Data for Progress poll shows California's 11th Congressional District is now a close race, with Saikat Chakrabarti surging less than two months before the June 2 primary.
The survey, conducted from April 3–8 among likely primary voters following the March 31 KQED debate, shows State Sen. Scott Wiener at 33% and Saikat at 28%, with San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan at 13% and 12% undecided.
The poll marks Saikat's strongest showing to date and places the race neck and neck between Saikat and Wiener as voters pay closer attention to the election.
The survey also shows Saikat with a higher net favorability than Wiener, +14 to +6, respectively, highlighting the campaign's accelerating momentum as more voters shift toward Saikat. In a head-to-head matchup for the November general election, the poll shows Saikat and Wiener tied at 39%, further underscoring the campaign's growing strength.
"When voters hear us talk about the issues impacting their lives, like affordability, housing, and corruption, they respond," said Saikat Chakrabarti, CA-11 candidate for Congress. "San Francisco is looking for leadership that will fight for real change, not just more of the status quo, and that's why we're building momentum."
The Data for Progress survey was conducted April 3–8, 2026, among 537 likely primary voters in California's 11th Congressional District. The margin of error is ±4 percentage points.
