We Can Fix This.

I'm running for Congress because Democratic Party leaders in DC are unfit to lead in today's world.

WHY I'M RUNNING

The American Dream is failing. Authoritarianism is winning.

Fixing this means making the impossible possible — and that's what I've spent my career doing. I'm Saikat Chakrabarti. I co-founded Justice Democrats and elected the Squad, challenging corporate Democrats when no one else would. I ran AOC's 2018 upset and served as her Chief of Staff, where I launched the Green New Deal, which led to the largest climate and union jobs investment in history. Today I lead New Consensus, fighting for economic security for all Americans.

I'm running because I've seen first-hand how change actually happens. When people organize and demand it, they win. That's how we'll deliver Medicare for All, affordable housing, political reform, and clean energy.

Together, we can rebuild our party, revitalize our city, and transform our nation.

Saikat speaking at a rally

San Francisco has always pushed the country forward. It's time to do it again.

Whether it’s the cost-of-living crisis, housing shortage, homelessness, or drug addiction crisis, San Francisco is hit hardest by many of America’s problems. We cannot afford to have a representative fighting to keep a broken status quo intact.

San Francisco has always been the home of movements that fight to fix what the nation gets wrong. From the Longshoremen’s Strike of 1934 that unionized the West, to the anti-war movement of the 1960s, to the LGBTQ and disability rights movements — when the country wouldn’t move, San Francisco pushed.

And our country needs San Francisco to push again today.
